Join a variety of top coaches and experts, including representatives from Rowing Canada Aviron and Seize The Oar for a weekend development camp. We will focus on: rigging, racing, classification, and camaraderie. Participants will be individually coached, receive video analysis, and have an opportunity to race the 2000m distance on the Vancouver Lake buoyed course. Additional "Pay It Forward" Intro to Rowing Clinic for the NW Association of Blind Athletes on Sunday, August 27.
Seize The Oar presents "Rowing As Rehabilitation" with our Recreational Therapist colleagues Susan Collins, formerly of Harborview Medical Center, Seattle and Carrie Booker, of Seattle VA Hospital Spinal Cord Injury Unit. This 90' presentation covers all aspects of introducing rowing, on land and on water, to patients in their rehabilitation process.
NW Ergomania, the NW Indoor Rowing Championships, provides the entire Pacific Northwest region with the opportunity to race in over 20 categories including adaptive events, 500 meter dash sprints, the “Hour of power”, and team events.
First-time Seize The Oar showing at this annual event on beautiful Lake Union. Join us to cheer rowers Michael and Erin as they tackle their first 5k race in the adaptive double. Volunteers needed at Lake Washington Rowing Club early Sunday morning for launching and docking.
Are you a visually-impaired athlete looking to try rowing? Join us for a fun and informative 3-hour clinic @ The Renton Rowing Center in Renton, WA. Sliding scale $25-$50. Includes rowing instruction by Seize The Oar Head Coach Tara Morgan and Paralympic Rower Natalie McCarthy, water safety supplies, boxed lunch, and refreshments. Transportation provided upon request.
