High performance Rowing Program - requires 1 year of rowing

Summer/Fall 2x/week @ Renton Rowing, April through October

Practices are Thursdays at 6am and Sundays between 7-11am and include a land training component as well as time on the water, weather-permitting. All water practices feature a safety launch with coaching staff, and are held in 2x (two-person boats). Line-ups are decided based on athlete experience level, practice RSVPs, upcoming regattas or the training plan’s status. Land workouts are led by a certified Adaptive CrossFit coach and feature cardio, intervals, and more!

Novice Rowing - open to ages 13 and up

Indoor Training - open to ages 13 and up, families and caregivers welcome

Winter/Spring 1x/week @ CrossFit RE: Columbia City, December through March

Indoor practices are held Sundays, between 8am-10am in a CrossFit Facility in South Seattle neighborhood of Columbia City. These workouts feature any manner of training, but nearly always include a significant output on the rowing machines and using the equipment at the gym (ropes, barbells, med balls, etc). All athletes are assessed by our partner physical therapists and goals are mutually set between the athlete/coach.

Freedom Rows

Outreach events and land-based training offered to disabled veterans, now serving Seattle and Vashon Island.

APPRENTICE COACH POSITIONS

Learn coaching and training for the adaptive athlete with Seize The Oar, the top NW competitive Inclusive Rowing Team! You will benefit from weekly practice and regatta time from April through October, and indoor training time from December - March, gaining skills like practice management, athlete care, and racing/training strategies from novice/recreational to high performance.  Work side by side with Seize The Oar coaches and staff in all stages of the training year.  Applications accepted starting November 1 to coachtara@seizetheoar.com.
